Dharma School
Growing up with wisdom, compassion, and community.
In a world filled with pressure, comparison, and uncertainty, kids and teens need more than just academic success—they need tools for emotional balance, kindness, and self-awareness. Our Dharma School offers a safe, inclusive space where young people can explore timeless Buddhist values that help them live with confidence, gratitude, and compassion.
We don’t teach kids to be perfect. We help them feel seen, supported, and empowered to meet life just as they are—with open hearts and steady minds.
Why Dharma School?
Dharma School is our version of Buddhist Sunday School, designed for children and youth from preschool through high school. Classes are age-appropriate, engaging, and interactive, led by caring volunteer teachers who are part of our temple community.
Each Sunday includes:

A short family-friendly service with songs, a chant, and a short Dharma message.

Breakout classes by age group that explore Buddhist teachings through stories, art, games, and discussion.

Opportunities to build friendships, share thoughts, and reflect in a safe space.

We often draw from Jodo Shinshu Buddhist teachings, but always in a way that meets kids where they are—with relevance, humor, and heart.
We explore themes like:
Parents, You're Welcome Too
We encourage families to attend services together before Dharma School classes begin. Many parents stay for the adult service while children are in class, and some even get involved as volunteers or supporters. Dharma School is as much a way to connect as a family as it is for your child to grow spiritually.
Enrollment and Schedule
When: Dharma School meets on Sundays following the main service.
Who: Open to children from Pre-K through Grade 12.
Cost: Dharma School is free and supported by the generosity of our community.
